Summer Holiday: Barcelona   [Report Abuse]

Posted by: berapa-harga
Are you looking for a holiday that will offer something more than the usual package of a hotel with a beach in the middle of anywhere? Perhaps you're looking for a summer getaway that will also include some cultural highlights and good food. If so, look no further than Spain's metropolitan Barcelona.
The beauty of Barcelona is that whilst it offers one of Europe's top city break destinations, it also has a beach, making it a perfect choice for a cultural summer sun break. You can easily spend a week or more there, and there's something for all age ranges to do. Image By: Moyan_Brenn
For most visitors, one of the city's main draws is the food. You will find a plethora of tapas bars and restaurants ranging from pinxto (small, bite-size snacks on cocktail sticks) bars to fine dining restaurants. The pinxto bars have delectable delights laid out across the bar for you to help yourself to whilst ordering a glass of wine or sherry. Whilst some have restaurant areas towards the back, the best and most popular way to eat is around high bar tables, standing or on high stools. Always busy, the norm is to take in a few bars in an evening, moving from one to the other with a few snacks along the way. You'll find these all over the city; there's a great selection in close proximity to one another in the Barri Gotic. Most famous of these is Cal Pep, also recommended is buzzing El Xampanyet.
In addition to the famed gastronomic experience, Barcelona has a great artistic and cultural scene. From one of its most famous residents, you can see much of Picasso's work at the Picasso Museum, handily located in the Barri Gotic. You will also see much of Miro's work scattered throughout the city; making a great game for the children to try and spot them all. Of course, no trip to Barcelona would be complete without taking in Gaudi's formidable Sagrada Familia or his Park Guell on the outskirts. The panoramic views of the city are incredible; also offering a scenic outdoor space for the kids to run around in if they need a break from city sightseeing.
For families, there is always plenty to see and do. The zoo is easily accessible by metro hosting a vast array of animals, filling up a memorable day of your trip. Additionally there are loads of play parks in the city, often conveniently located next to places to eat and shop – giving you the perfect excuse to mix playtime for both parents and kids!
The beach itself is spectacular, with golden sand stretching right up the famed eateries around the promenade. If you would prefer to get out of the city altogether however, the beach resort of Sitges is a mere 40 minutes away by train.
Whatever your needs and whatever your length of stay, Barcelona is sure to captivate you and have you returning again and again.

Holidays in Latin America   [Report Abuse]

With the economy showing no signs of recovery, we thought now was a good time to highlight which destinations in South and Central America offer the best value for money.
For some it is simply a cheap place to travel whilst for others it is what you do when you are there that makes it a ‘value for money' destination.
In order to get the lowest price for your holiday book your flights early. This will secure the cheapest seats allowing you spend your hard earned cash on the hotels you want. Once at your chosen country avoid too much moving around as transfers to and from places can push your price up quickly.

Nicaragua. International flights are reasonable priced, cost of food is low and general travel is inexpensive.
Bolivia. The cheapest country in South America though you may pay a little more for the airfare to get here.
Mexico. We recommend hiring a car which is the cheapest way to get around but it also gives you the freedom to explore the Yucatan Peninsula on your own.
Brazil. Fly directly into the north east of the country to Salvador, Natal or Fortaleza and avoid Rio de Janeiro will save you money on your airfares.
Honduras. By combining the Bay islands and Pico Bonito and using the ferries from the mainland to link the two you can catch a bargain.

Plan Your World Tours    [Report Abuse]

Is seeing the world on a budget impossible? Believe it or not, it has been done time and again. No, not by those jet setters and wealthy celebrities we all envy, but by regular people who decided that they wanted to take off and see the world.
Here are some tips to help you with your world travels?
• Plan
- Plan the time you will dedicate to traveling. This is important for budgeting and deciding how much money you will need.
- Plan where you will go and when. Some places and flights are cheaper during certain seasons and, if you are going to travel on a budget, it is important you take the time to research the best deals.
- Plan how much money you need to save. Take into account food, travel expenses, and anything else that you need.
• Save
- Pretty straightforward. Stop spending more and start spending less.
- Get a second job. A little extra work to save up for a world experience is totally worth it.
- Budget how much you will need for your trip and for your current living expenses.
• Search
- It can’t be said enough. Search for the deals. They are out there and if you seek, you will find. Whether it’s finding cheap hostels, couch surfer homes, flights, restaurants or events, it will pay off.
Remember the aforementioned comment about “knowing or having certain friends in certain places”? Consider friends in far-away, exotic places that you haven’t seen for years. Often, friends will appreciate a visit from an old buddy and put you up free of cost, as well as acting as your own personal tour guide. If you have the capacity to be a gracious guest, it’s a great way of making the most of your trip and saving some money.

Overseas Holidays?   [Report Abuse]

Holidays, as everybody knows well, are about getting away. This can mean getting away from the stress of your job or escaping the noise and pollution of the city for the relative peace and tranquillity of a rural setting. Most people seem to think, however, that taking a holiday must mean going outside of your country in order to attain sufficient distance from any sort of stressful activities. Though this attitude can sometimes be helpful, it is not always necessary. One can, many times, find a good and suitable holiday spot within one’s own country. Take, for the sake of this article, someone living in the United States of America.
Now, many people’s idea of a holiday takes the form of floating quietly down a river in a gondola, or relaxing on a sunny beach in Cancun. These stereotypes do actually exist for a reason, though. These holiday spots are indeed highly desirable ones, and carry with them a certain amount of prestige. They are, however, rather impractical for people who only have a week or so of holiday. Therefore, finding a holiday spot inside the US would, for a US resident, be far more practical. It is, on one side, far more practical in terms of living costs. Second, the transportation costs can usually be much lower.
Another plus on that side is that there are some extremely attractive vacation spots in the US. For example, you can visit the Rockies if you want to go for a rustic, wilderness type of holiday. If, however, you are more of the “sunshine and sand” variety, you have the beautiful beaches of southern Florida available to you. In short, whatever kind of holiday venue is your favourite; it is likely that it can be found in your own country or at least nearby. This is an economic alternative to an otherwise expensive institution.

Economical Holidays   [Report Abuse]

Posted by: berapa-harga
Everyone loves the excitement and joy that a holiday can bring. There’s an element of adventure in there that appeals to most human beings on a very deep level. However, in the society that we now live in, it is becoming increasingly difficult to take a holiday while still saving money. This is a problem that many people worldwide face, and as such people have devised solutions for this. There are several things you can do in order to make sure that you save as much money as possible when travelling.
First, bring what you need. Though this may seem intuitively obvious to some, it perhaps bears a little more explaining for others. It is vitally important that you determine what kind of clothing your holiday spot will require. This way, you can have all that you need once there and will not have to purchase, say, a jacket because of the cold temperature. Then, see what you need in terms of toiletries. If you need sun tan lotion or sunscreen, then bring it. The prices at any primarily tourist spot will be extremely high, so you should avoid purchasing anything from them. Bring what you need, and only buy in case of losing the original.
Another great money pit during any holiday is food. Many people think that, since a holiday is a time to kick back, they should eat out quite a bit. And there isn’t really anything wrong with eating out. Unfortunately, restaurants in these types of tourist locales are usually really expensive. Therefore, the economical option is to prepare your own food. Of course, eating out is certainly an enjoyable and time-saving option. For the daily meals, however, it is infinitely more practical to simply prepare your own. And the meals don’t have to be imaginative to be tasty. A simple sandwich or an omelette will suffice.

Where to Ski   [Report Abuse]

Posted by: berapa-harga
Skiing is one of the favourite pastimes of many people. Though the idea of sliding down a mountain with few pieces of fibreglass attached to your feet may not be appealing to some, for many it is one of the most exhilarating experiences a person can undergo. For these people, finding a ski slope to spend a vacation on is the epitome of a good time. The issue with skiing, though, is that it can many times only be done on certain slopes. That is, if you want at least a degree of safety. Therefore, finding the best of these ski slopes can be very important.
One of the global hotspots for skiers is the Carpathian Mountain range. Located in the southern part of Eastern Europe, the mountain range comprises much of the borders between Slovakia, Poland and the Ukraine. They are widely known for their mountain lakes, glaciers and rugged beauty. Some of the best ski slopes in the area can be found in Slovakia, namely the Štrbské Pleso and Starý Smokovec resorts. These slopes are among some of the best to be found in the entire mountain range, and are situated in ideal place for both hiking as well as skiing.
If skiing is your preferred choice, then there is no more desirable place to go skiing than the Alps. They have been the primary destination of skiers for many years, and boast some of the finest ski slopes and resorts in the world. The only problem with the Alpine locales is their prices and their exclusivity. So the course of action is entirely left to your judgement. If you judge that expensive fees and exclusive resorts are worth the trouble necessary, then by all means go for it. It’s your vacation. Spend it how you want to.
